Haringey libraries take step into the digital age

Visitors to Haringey libraries such as Muswell Hill Library and Highgate Library, will now be able to check books out without leaving home, under the new E-books and audio books system.
Not only will users be able to check books out digitally, they will also be returned automatically, which an end to late fees.
Library users can access nearly 500 fiction and non-fiction titles, use the new digital library service, download to a PC or Mac, and transfer titles to an iPod, MP3, Sony Reader or other portable device.
Cllr Dilek Dogus, cabinet member for adult and community services, added:
“This is a great new service for local residents, with more and more people downloading books.”
