Haringey residents benefit from council's alliance

Haringey residents living in some of the more deprived parts of the borough are better off thanks to Haringey Council and the local Citizens Advice Bureau.

The jointly-run ‘Reaping the Benefits’ project provided information and advice on benefits, money management, jobs and training to more than 6,000 residents and generated more than £300,000 extra income over a 12-month period, raising average household incomes by £12 a week.

The project will now be continuing, alongside wider initiatives by the council and its partners in the Haringey Strategic Partnership to boost local incomes and help people back to work.
