Give us back our car park, say traders
Shopkeepers are hoping that the empty car park behind Hornsey Town Hall (pictured) will be re-opened.
They are calling for the reopening to stop Crouch End from bringing in a controlled parking zone, which they fear will threaten their livelihoods.
More than 30 traders, who make up a collective known as the Crouch End Project, are meeting with council officers to ask them to reopen the disused 200-space car park.
Opening it up, even for the short term, would provide a vital lifeline for businesses and raise cash for the council say traders.
The group says better parking facilities elsewhere in Haringey has already led to lost custom.
